Who in Ukraine can refuse to subsidy for communal services: the main reasons and nuances

subsidy is an important mechanism for state support for those who need help in housing. However, not all Ukrainians can count on this privilege because the legislation provides for clear restrictions. If the living space exceeds the established standards, the subsidy may not be provided. For apartments, the limit is 130 square meters, and for houses – 230. Exceptions are made for large families, family -type orphanages and some other categories.

If one of the residents of the house or apartment has made a significant purchase or financial transaction in the last 12 months for more than 50 thousand hryvnias, it can also be a basis for refusing a subsidy. It is about the purchase of real estate, cars, significant money transfer or investment. Also an important factor is the availability of additional property: if the family has more than one living space or car under 5 years of age, the subsidy may not be assigned.

Another significant reason for refusal may be utilities. If the debt exceeds UAH 680 and is not repaid for more than three months, the subsidy will not be assigned. Similar to the alimony situation: if a household member has a debt to pay alimony for more than three months, they will not provide assistance. Also a negative factor is the non -repayment of unnecessary subsidies if social protection demanded to do so. If more than 100 thousand hryvnias are stored in human bank accounts, it may indicate sufficient financial capacity, which excludes the need for state assistance. The subsidy is also not provided to those who have no official income or have not paid a single social contribution. However, these rules do not apply to students, servicemen, registered unemployed, pensioners and people in difficult life circumstances. >
