The European Union intends to surround the transfer of diplomats with the Russian Federation with the Schengen zone, – Politico

The European Union plans to limit the trips of Russian diplomats to the country in which it is accredited, and in this manner protect them transfer to other countries of the Schengen zone.

RBC-Ukraine reports this in a post on Politico.

According to several diplomats familiar with the plan, such a proposal is included in the 13th package of European sanctions against Russia.

This proposal is in line with the long-standing complaints of the Czech Republic, which in the past fatally affected the restricted freedom of transfer of Russian diplomats. Zokrem, the Czech order, urged that Russian diplomats receive special visas and residence permits.

However, according to Politico, it is still unclear how the plan will be implemented, and even travel within the Schengen zone is often not monitored. Dzherela recently announced that the European Commission will also expand the lists of Russian companies to which European firms cannot sell related goods and military products.

According to Reuters information, the package of sanctions does not prevent new restrictions on the import of Russian goods. In this case, the European Commission will no longer begin to negotiate an agreement that will reach the package.
