(VAKS) left the complaint unsatisfied the defender of ex-People's Deputy Maxim Nikitas and the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) on the decision of the investigator of the VAKS judge Oleg Tkachenko, the Anti-Corruption Center reports.

This decision was made by a panel of judges consisting of Dmitry Mikhailenko, Viktor Pankulich and Alexander Semennikov.

The SAPO prosecutor asked Nikitas to increase the bail amount to UAH 21 million.

At the same time, the defense asked not to determine any preventive measure, and also noted that Nikitas does not have the funds to pay bail.< /p> >

Previously, investigator Judge VAKS Tkachenko dismissed Nikitas from house arrest. They say you can’t keep someone under arrest for more than six months.

At the same time, the judge chose another preventive measure for him in the form of bail in the amount of 908 thousand UAH. In addition to the bail, Nikitas was also entrusted with a number of responsibilities, in particular: to hand over foreign passports and wear an electronic bracelet.

Nikitas’s affairs

  • On October 25, 2023, people’s deputy of the 8th convocation Nikitas was informed about suspicion of embezzlement of funds from the Ministry of Defense. Before being elected to the Verkhovna Rada, he was the head of the Ukrbud construction company. He was accused of theft of 307 million hryvnia allocated in 2018 for the construction of protected arsenals.
  • The High Anti-Corruption Court sent the former deputy under house arrest in November 2023.
  • That same year, in November, the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) supported the decision of the investigating judge and left ex-People's Deputy Maxim Nikitas under house arrest.
  • In January of this year, law enforcement officers completed an investigation against Nikitas and five other people in the case of the probable embezzlement of 312 million hryvnia from the Ministry of Defense.
  • in 2019, NABU announced suspicion of Nikitas in embezzlement of property National Guard in the amount of more than 81 million hryvnia.
  • In 2020, he was informed of suspicion of ordering the kidnapping of a lawyer in Kyiv. In the same year, NABU informed the defendant of suspicion that in 2017, a division of NNEGC Energoatom entered into an agreement for 929 million hryvnia with a company controlled by it, for which an official of the state-owned enterprise received apartments.
  • In 2022 Nikitas was informed of suspicion of offering to provide unlawful benefits on a particularly large scale (22 million euros for the opportunity to build a metro in the city of Dnepr).
