Billboard has unveiled the recipients of its Women in Music 2026 awards, recognizing artists whose work continues to shape the global music industry and influence emerging performers, reports Baltimore Chronicle via Billboard. The annual initiative highlights women across genres for their artistic achievements, commercial success and cultural impact.

The 2026 Innovator Award goes to Laufey for redefining contemporary jazz-pop and attracting a new generation of listeners. This year, the singer also secured her second Grammy Award, further solidifying her standing within the industry.

Zara Larsson has been named Breakthrough Artist in recognition of her international chart performance and continued evolution as one of pop music’s most visible figures. Her commercial results across multiple markets contributed to the distinction.

Teyana Taylor receives the Visionary Award for her creative direction and cross-disciplinary influence spanning music, film, fashion and choreography. Taylor, who starred in the film “One Battle After Another,” has been acknowledged for expanding her artistic presence beyond the recording studio.

Thalía is honored with the Icon Award for her long-standing impact on Latin American and international pop culture. Her career, which spans decades, has established her as one of the most recognizable Latin pop artists globally.

Ella Langley is recognized as Powerhouse for her achievements in country music, marked by a strong vocal presence and narrative-driven songwriting. The accolade underscores her growing profile within the genre.

Tate McRae has been named Hitmaker for sustained chart dominance and measurable cultural resonance. Her commercial performance and global reach were cited as key factors in the decision.

Mariah The Scientist earns the Rising Star Award for rapid career growth, distinctive songwriting and a recognizable vocal style that has positioned her among emerging R&B voices.

Kehlani receives the Impact Award for artistry combined with civic engagement and broader cultural influence. Organizers highlighted her contributions both within music and in public discourse.

The Women in Music 2026 ceremony is scheduled for April 29 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. According to Billboard Co-Chair of Content Jason Lipshutz, this year’s honorees represent “bold creativity, global influence and artistic excellence across genres.”
