Olena Duma, the head of the National Agency for the Search and Management of Assets (ARMA), submitted her resignation. She announced this via her Facebook account, reports Baltimore Chronicle, citing Facebook. She pointed out that her resignation coincided with the official entry into force of the new law aimed at strengthening ARMA’s institutional capacity. “I ask the government to approve my resignation, as it is an important step in the agency’s reform,” Duma emphasized.
According to her, during her tenure, she and her team succeeded in implementing real changes. Specifically, the agency, which previously had a negative reputation, began demonstrating concrete results: billions in revenue for the state budget, transparent operating mechanisms through Prozorro and Prozorro.Sales systems, maximum openness to media and the public, and expanding international cooperation. Another significant achievement was the modernization of the Register of Seized Assets.
The changes introduced under her leadership are now officially enshrined in Ukrainian legislation. “We created a professional team that became the foundation of these changes. Through our collective effort, we ensured the adoption of an effective law while avoiding unconstitutional provisions,” Duma stated, expressing her gratitude to all agency staff.
She also mentioned that a key step ahead is the international audit of ARMA, which she considers crucial for further strengthening the agency’s work. According to her, the government should appoint an interim head of ARMA to ensure the successful execution of the audit and the effective functioning of the agency during the competition for the new position. Lastly, she noted that on her final working day at ARMA, she contributed 16 million UAH to the state budget through the management of the “Medvedchuk pipe.”
