Donald Trump, the President of the United States, stated that he expects concrete results from the upcoming talks with Vladimir Putin in Alaska regarding the situation in Ukraine. Trump emphasized that Russia’s ongoing attacks on Ukraine are not strengthening the Kremlin’s position, but rather harming Putin. “Something will come of this,” said Trump, adding that while Putin believes these attacks give him strength, Trump thinks they are only damaging him. Among the topics that may be discussed during the talks, Trump mentioned territorial exchanges, security guarantees, and economic relations. The U.S. President stressed that any decisions regarding possible compromises must be made by Kyiv. At the same time, he pointed out that security guarantees could be provided with the involvement of Europe and other countries, but not through NATO.
