The former commander of American forces in Europe, retired Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, said that the West did not respond properly to the interview with the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valery Zaluzhny, and did not provide what the military leader requested for the defenders.
The former commander of the US Army in Europe noted, that the interview of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for The Economist was useful. The military leader accurately identified the challenges and needs of the Ukrainian army, his analysis was professional, NBN reports with reference to ERR.
Hodges noted that the West did not respond either to the general’s interview or to the list of needs that he voiced . According to him, the refusal of the US Congress to take responsibility is a shame. If Washington refuses to help Ukraine, it will give a gift to Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin.
The ex-military leader expressed hope that the issue of support for Kyiv will be resolved this month or in early February. In any case, as Hodges noted, the Ukrainians will continue to fight the Russian invaders, but the West will “lose big” if it does not help them win.
The general added that China is watching the actions of the Russian Federation and the fact that makes Iran the hands of the Houthis, Hamas and Hezbollah.
Hodges previously explained why Russian authorities do not pay attention to the huge losses of Putin’s troops in Ukraine.
