The Romanian Defense Ministry commented on media statements that write about the destruction of the country's air defense “Shaheds”. The kamikaze drones that Putin's army launched at Ukraine were allegedly shot down using Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, NBN reports.
The Defense Ministry denied the information, noting that the Russian occupiers wanted to hit Ukraine's port infrastructure on the Danube with the help of attack drones, and did not aim at Romanian territory.
Bucharest emphasized that the Romanian air defense forces and assets deployed on the border with Ukraine did not fire at the means of attack of the terrorist state's army.
Recall that on the night of July 25, during the attack on Ukraine, three Shaheds flew into Romanian airspace, and fragments of such UAVs were found on the country's territory. Zelensky's office commented on this incident.
