These funds will be used to purchase drones and air defence systems, which should strengthen the protection of the Ukrainian population and critical infrastructure from ongoing attacks by Russia.
Norway’s additional contribution, made in cooperation with the UK, the Netherlands and Lithuania, demonstrates the international community’s desire to provide maximum support to Ukraine in its fight against aggression. In the context of an acute shortage of military equipment in the country, such measures are becoming vital.
It is worth noting that Norway has repeatedly supported Ukraine, sending funds for the purchase of air defence systems, mine clearance equipment, artillery ammunition, and equipment for engineering tasks. This summer, countries participating in the IFU signed an agreement on the purchase of artillery ammunition for Ukraine in the amount of 300 million pounds sterling.
The International Ukraine Fund, established under the auspices of the UK Ministry of Defence, continues to play a key role in coordinating the efforts of several countries to support Ukraine. The following countries have joined this fund: Australia, Denmark, Iceland, Lithuania, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden, which underlines the global scale of this initiative.
Recall that earlier we wrote that the Ministry of Education explained when teachers' salaries would be raised to UAH 24,000.
