The head of the Polish Foreign Ministry commented on the reports in an interview with the European Pravda publication in the media that his country has not allocated funds for the purchase of ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is being handled by the Czech Republic, NBN reports.
The diplomat confirmed the information of journalists, stating that this is happening due to temporary formal obstacles. According to him, Warsaw has a “political decision” to allocate 50 million euros this year and the same amount next year. However, as the minister explained, legal and administrative issues related to the State Agency for Strategic Reserves have arisen.
Sikorski added that his department has done its part of the work and expressed hope that his colleagues from foreign countries will also do everything.
Recall that the Polish publication Gazeta Wyborcza reported that among all the countries that joined the Czech initiative to purchase shells for the Defense Forces of Ukraine, Poland is the only one that has not transferred funds. Journalists found out how this affects Prague's plan to provide the defenders with ammunition.
