As reported by “NBN”, citing a statement by the head of the national defense ministry, Rustem Umerov, made on the air of a telethon on the YouTube channel “TSN”, said that Kyiv is holding a series of consultations with partner states regarding the supply of Western-style fighters of several types, and this is not the Mirage-2000 or the F-16.
Based on the words of the head of the Ministry of Defense, the process of transition to Western platforms focuses on three factors: pilot training, development of the corresponding aviation infrastructure, and, in fact, the timely transfer of aircraft.
Umerov added that some allied countries have made a commitment to Kyiv regarding the F-16 and Mirage-2000. However, consultations are ongoing regarding the provision of Swedish JAS-39 “Gripen” and Eurofighter Typhoon to Ukraine.
The head of the national defense department emphasized:
…We will soon have the results that we will announce.
