The French publication Le Monde writes that at the moment the United States does not support the idea of inviting Ukraine to the North Atlantic Alliance, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia.
At the same time, two states insist that Ukraine should be invited to NATO – Great Britain and France, the NBN publication reports.
According to journalists, American leader Joe Biden refused to make the corresponding decision and it can be assumed that the newly elected American President Donald Trump, who has always opposed Ukraine's integration into the Alliance, will not do so either. The media claims that the Republican will propose postponing the country's entry into the military-political bloc for at least two decades.
Recall that President Volodymyr Zelensky recently stated that if the North Atlantic Alliance takes the territories of Ukraine controlled by Kyiv under its “umbrella”, this will help end the active stage of hostilities. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte responded to the words of the head of state.
