As reported by “NBN”, citing Al Jazeera material, on the eve, December 8, the leaders of the Syrian rebels made a statement – opposition forces were able to enter the capital of the state, Damascus, and overthrew the dictatorial regime of Bashar al-Assad.
As it became known from local rebels, the tyrant Bashar al-Assad managed to escape, and Damascus finally became free, and the long-term “dark era” for Syria ended:
…50 years of oppression under the Baathists and 13 years of crime, tyranny and repression, after a long struggle, confrontation with various kinds of occupation forces [apparently, we are talking about the Russian Armed Forces and the Wagner PMC], we declare today, December 8, 2024, the end of this dark era and the beginning of a new one.
According to unnamed high-ranking Syrian army officers, President Assad hastily left Damascus using an airplane and flew off in an unknown direction.
According to preliminary data, Assad was likely on board the Russian Il-76T aircraft, which, according to Flightradar, disappeared from radar in the Syrian region yesterday, December 7.
Earlier, we wrote that the Russian Federation was trying to prevent Assad's overthrow through diplomatic efforts.
