The results of a sociological survey conducted by Info Sapiens on behalf of the New Europe Center from November 15 to 27 showed what Ukrainians consider the best guarantees of security for their country.
The majority of respondents (31.3%) said that they believe the development of nuclear weapons by the state is the best guarantee of Ukraine's security, the NBN publication reports.
29.3% of respondents believe that the guarantee of security is Ukraine's gradual integration into NATO. In particular, if the country does not control part of its regions at the time of joining the military-political bloc, the Alliance's protection will only extend to territories controlled by Kyiv.
11.2% of survey participants believe that the best guarantee of security for their country is a defense alliance with the United States, which provides for the deployment of American troops on Ukrainian territory.
8.9% of citizens named UN peacekeepers as the best guarantee of security, and 6.4% of respondents named the deployment of armed forces from European countries in Ukraine.
As reported, a Levada Center opinion poll showed how many Russians approve of the use of nuclear weapons against Ukraine.
