According to the forecast of the bank-regulator (NBU), by the end of the current year the rate of inflation will accelerate to 9.7 percent, however, in reality, everything is completely different.

As NBN reports with reference to the material from RBC-Ukraine, according to the well-founded opinion of the analyst of the Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business (UCAB) Maksym Gopka, the cost of the most popular New Year's salad “Olivier” has increased significantly and unjustifiably.
Based on Gopka's analytical data, our country has seen a significant increase in prices for various food products, and, during this year, the traditional holiday dish has also become noticeably more expensive.
In particular, the prices for the following ingredients of the Olivier salad have increased significantly:
- 1 kilogram of regular potatoes — almost 2 times (from 32-34 hryvnia);
- a dozen category C1 chicken eggs — by 25 percent (from 70 hryvnia);
- 1 kilogram of carrots — no less than 2.5 times (from 29 hryvnia).
Thus, prices for the key and previously most affordable components of the specified salad have increased, on average, in the range from 25 to 30 percent, which does not coincide with either the forecasts of the National Bank or the data of the State Statistics Service.
Earlier, our information portal wrote that an economist explained the record increase in the cost of eggs and potatoes in Ukraine.
