Based on the words of an unspecified official who spoke with Trump's headquarters, the White House is ready to concentrate US efforts on guaranteeing security for Ukraine, since such measures are inevitable. However, in exchange for fulfilling these obligations, Trump may require European countries to shoulder the bulk of the burden when concluding “any potential deal.”
At the same time, the Bloomberg informant added that Brussels is aware that Washington expects them to transfer the key contingent of EU troops to Ukraine, since Trump considers the Russian-Ukrainian war to be an exclusively “European matter.”
In addition, Trump's team made it clear that the United States does not intend to take on obligations for the direct restoration of Ukraine, and will offer to perform these tasks to private contractors.
