As reported by NBN with reference to Ukrinform sources in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, since the morning of Friday, January 24, the population of Moscow, St. Petersburg and many central regions of the aggressor country began to complain about problems with mobile communications, access to the Internet, as well as deterioration in the functioning of online services and applications.

As it became known, several hours after the above-described problems arose, Roskomnadzor officially confirmed a “failure” in the infrastructure of the MegaFon company. At the same time, Russian media later pointed out the true factor that provoked the lack of communication and the disappearance of the Internet, reporting an effective carpet DDoS attack on MegaFon.

However, MegaFon tried to assure that their networks were allegedly operating in “normal mode”, but some “access problems” were possible, occurring for “reasons beyond their control”.

Also, this effective “carpet attack” disrupted the work of not only MegaFon, but also the communication/Internet operators Yota, NetByNet, and access was temporarily blocked Russians to the online services Steam, Twitch and Discord (the latter services are actively used by the occupiers and enemy intelligence services).

Earlier, our information portal wrote about Putin's army setting up weapons depots at civilian sites in Yevpatoria.
