In February 2022, units of the “second army of the world” entered Ukrainian territory from neighboring Belarus, using the satellite state as a springboard for an offensive on Kyiv and a number of northern regions.

As reported by NBN with reference to an exclusive material from LB.UA, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, made a statement that the autumn joint exercises of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, Zapad-2025, may turn out to be a component aimed at preparing a new offensive against Ukraine from Belarusian territory.
Based on Syrsky’s words, one of the goals of the above-described exercises may be the covert formation of a group of offensive troops, since during maneuvers, the enemy will find many ways to relocate or transfer troops, concentrating “manpower” in a certain direction.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recalled that this is how the invasion began in 2022: at first, the defense department of the aggressor country created a military group, announcing exercises, but the invaders did not return to Russia, but only continued the operation, and “it became clear that that was it.”
Thus, the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces intends to take into account the potential emergence of a threat against the backdrop of the autumn military exercises of Russia and Belarus.
