The doctor debunked the popular myth that due to prolonged use of one cosmetic, the skin can “adapt” to it. According to her, there is no need to change care for prevention.

NBN informs about this with reference to the Take Care of Yourself platform.

The dermatologist explained that if this or that product for facial care does not give the expected result, this means that the condition of the skin and its needs have changed, which may be due to various factors – time of year, climatic conditions, taking medications or vitamins, hormonal changes, stress, age.

Kochergina recalled that in the cold season, due to temperature changes and the heating season, the skin needs to be moisturized more; in the heat, the oily sheen on the face may increase.

Also, according to the specialist, this or that product over time can work to support the outcome. At the beginning of using cosmetics, the difference between “before” and “after” is often noticeable, but over time it begins to seem that there are no changes due to getting used to the reflection in the mirror.
