About the fact that the “landing” of this Tu-22M3 is the first recorded case when the Ukrainian air defense system was able to “reach” a strategic bomber of the Russian Aerospace Forces, writes “NBN”, referring to the official X-account of the UK Ministry of Defense.
Military intelligence of the United Kingdom notes information from the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Kirill Budanov regarding the use of a missile from an outdated S-200 air defense system to eliminate the Tu-22M3 almost certainly corresponds to the true state of affairs, that is, it confirms another successful Ukrainian attack on  ;Russian Air Force.
In addition, an identical complex, apparently, was used to “land” the Russian A-50 early warning aircraft in February of this year.
The UK Ministry of Defense summarized:
It is likely that Russia has lost at least 100 combat aircraft to date.
