The general denied reports of the intention of the Russians to create a “buffer zone for the protection of Belgorod” in the Kharkov region. According to Budanov, this is how Moscow explains to its citizens the actions of Putin’s occupation forces in the region, NBN reports.

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Moscow Military District drew attention to the fact that the invaders intensified their offensive in two separate directions, between which there is no continuous strip to create a buffer zone. In addition, the offensive of Putin’s army in the border areas of Ukraine did not help Belgorod in any way.

According to the military leader, the real goal of the offensive of the Russian Armed Forces in the Kharkov region is to sow panic and chaos within the country, as well as to divert the forces and means of the defenders.

Also, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the MOU explained why Russian troops did not launch an attack on the Sumy region.
