Not so long ago, NATO and US functionaries warned that the PRC (People's Republic of China) does not stop supporting the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation, helping the aggressor country by supplying cargo with microelectronics, optics, machine tools and rocket fuel, despite regular proposals for peace negotiations in Ukraine from Beijing.

About what “principles for restoring peace” between the Russian Federation and Ukraine were proposed by Chinese leader Xi Jinping to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at a recent meeting, and what the danger of such Chinese initiatives is, writes NBN, referring to Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

In particular, the Chinese leader called for a focus on “maintaining peace” and a rejection of “selfish goals,” including “cooling the situation and not adding fuel to the fire,” which would supposedly create “conditions for restoring peace.” “, refraining from the subsequent “increase in tensions”, minimizing the negative consequences for the “world economy” and the stability of global logistics routes.

ISW analysts stressed that Xi's narratives are deliberately distant so that the Chinese leader can continue to position himself as a neutral mediator in the war, despite increasing reports of Beijing's support for Moscow's war efforts. In particular, this “point of view” of Xi Jinping is entirely consistent with his apparent reluctance to deepen the Chinese-Russian partnership to the level desired by the Kremlin tyrant Vladimir Putin. That is, Beijing is not against maintaining access to the markets of Western countries, although it traditionally refrains from defining the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine as a war.

The Institute for the Study of War added such heterogeneous signals from Xi ;Jinping, voiced at a meeting with Scholz, against the backdrop of China’s hidden strengthening of assistance to the Russian Federation, apparently, are an attempt not to limit China’s access to the EU market in an ambiguous way, clearly excluding the demonstration of real interest in assistance ending the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Earlier, we wrote that Scholz spoke about a scenario in which he is ready to continue the dialogue with Putin.
