A source in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the MOU told Channel 24 the details of the arrest of the deputy Shoigu. According to the journalists' interlocutor, the official was detained due to the fact that Ukrainian intelligence gained access to his official documents and confidential information of the Russian Federation, NBN reports.
Ivanov became a “conductor” of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to secret information of the enemy during a cyber attack by the intelligence services in March of this year, despite the Russians’ attempts to secure the relevant servers.
The source noted that when it became known in “wider circles” about the GUR’s access to confidential data of the aggressor country , an investigation was launched against the deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Defense on suspicion of corruption.
As reported, the media said that Ivanov was arrested on suspicion of treason, explaining why the Kremlin does not publicly announce this.
