The head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Finance, Daniil Getmantsev, explained why casinos cannot be completely banned in our country. The people's deputy also told how much taxes the gambling business paid in March.

On air of the Ranok.LIVE program, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance said , that it is impossible to completely ban casinos in our country, since such a step by the authorities could lead to an increase in corruption, NBN reports.
According to the MP, the contributions of the gambling business to the state budget have increased. In 2022, casino owners paid taxes in the amount of 740 million hryvnia, next year – up to more than 10 billion hryvnia.
As Getmantsev clarified, the contribution of the gambling business to the budget of Ukraine last month alone amounted to 2 billion hryvnia. The official emphasized that this amount of taxes indicates an active process of de-shadowing casinos in our country. In addition, the money from these taxes goes to the Armed Forces.
Recall that the head of state Vladimir Zelensky at the end of March responded to a petition to limit the operation of online casinos in Ukraine. The President said that he had instructed the Secretary of the RNBO, the heads of the SBU, the Ministry of Digital Development and the State Special Communications Service to propose a solution to this issue.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada spoke about the connection between Telegram and the Russian intelligence services and named the condition for blocking the messenger in the country.
