Yesterday night, April 20, the attackers (ground forces) prevented the inspection of their car by opening fire on law enforcement officers – a 20-year-old police officer died from his injuries, and his partner was wounded.

About that that the operational services initially established the whereabouts of the defendants – they tried to take refuge in the Odessa region, but were detained with the force support of the KORD special unit, writes NBN, referring to the statement of the head of the National Police of Ukraine Ivan Vygovsky, published in the official Telegram channel structure of the same name.

As it became known, the killers of the policeman actually turned out to be two military men, a father and a son, 52 and 26 years old, respectively, who previously lived in the Vinnytsia region. At this stage, all the circumstances of yesterday's incident, including the motives that led to the commission of a serious crime, are being established.

In addition, based on the fact of the attack on April 20, the investigative team began criminal proceedings, in accordance with Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, regarding the murder/attempted murder of a law enforcement officer in the performance of official duties: the criminals face life imprisonment.
