The first issue of the American weekly celebrity magazine People was published in March 1974. In honor of the 50th anniversary, the editors decided to release a special issue, says WomanEL.
People gathered on one cover world celebrities who had previously been media heroes. The stars posed together in a joint shot, sitting at tables, and each separately. Photos for the anniversary issue were taken by top photographer Art Streiber.
