Irina Kolyadenko became the winner of the continental championship for the third time in her career.
Ukrainian Irina Kolyadenko won gold in women's freestyle wrestling at the 2024 European Championships, which is taking place in Bucharest, Romania.
25-year-old Ukrainian athlete won the weight category up to 65 kg.
In the final match, Kolyadenko defeated Ekaterina Zelenykh from Romania – 6:0.
For Irina, this is the third gold medal at the continental championship in her career. In 2021 and 2023, she won the European Championships in the weight category up to 62 kg; in the same category, Kolyadenko won bronze at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
We would like to add that on the second day of the Euro 2024 finals in The Ukrainian women's freestyle wrestling team won three awards. In addition to Kolyadenko's gold, Solomiya Vynnyk (up to 57 kg) and Yulia Tkach-Ostapchuk (up to 62 kg) became bronze medalists of the competition.
In total, the Ukrainian women's freestyle wrestling team already has six medals at the current European Championships . Previously, silver medals were won by Alina Filipovich, Tatiana Sova-Rizhko and Anastasia Osnyach (Shustova).
