Polesie beat Minaj in the away match of the 23rd round Ukrainian Premier League (UPL). The match at the Minai Arena ended with the score 2:3.
In the first half, the Zhytomyr club created a comfortable handicap – Venezuelan striker Luifer Hernandez scored a double, scoring in the 9th and 23rd minutes. For him, these are his debut goals in the UPL.
After the break, the guests made the score devastating – in the 59th minute, Emil Mustafaev scored an accurate shot.
However, then Sergei Shishchenko's charges almost lost all their advantage. Denis Ustimenko scored a double, scoring in the 65th and 87th minutes. However, the Transcarpathians were no longer able to equalize the score.

For “Polesie” this is the first victory in official matches in 2024. The Zhytomyr club interrupted its streak of five defeats in a row (four in the UPL and one in the Ukrainian Cup).
Polesie (36 points) ranks sixth in the UPL. “Minai” (14 points) remained in the last, 16th line of the tournament table.
In the next round, “Polesie” will host “Kolos” on April 14. A day earlier, Minai will play away against Obolon.
