The winner of the mini-tournament will spend the next season in the elite division.
From July 26 to 30, the “Tournament of Four” will take place, which will determine who will replace Dnipro-1 in the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) for the 2024/25 season.
Earlier, Dnipro-1 was excluded from the list of participants UPL. The Dnipro club withdrew from the competition due to financial problems.
After that, the UAF Executive Committee decided that the vacant place in the elite division would be given to the winner of a mini-tournament involving four clubs: Minaj, Metalist 1925, Levy Bereg, and Epicenter.
During the draw, the semi-final pairs were formed: Levy Bereg vs. Metalist 1925 and Epicenter vs. Minaj. The semi-finals will take place on July 26.
The first finalist was Levy Bereg, which beat Metalist 1925 in a penalty shootout.
The winners of the semi-final matches will compete for a ticket to the UPL in the final, which will take place on July 30.
If the winner of the matches is not determined in regular time, then a series of post-match penalties will be held.
We would like to remind you that at the end of last season, “Minaj” and “Metalist 1925” were relegated from the UPL, taking 15th and 16th places respectively.
Left Bank and Epicenter finished in 3rd and 4th positions in the First League and participated in the play-offs for the right to play in the UPL 2024/25, where they lost to Obolon and Veres, respectively.
