Olga won bronze in individual sabre.
Ukrainian sabre fencer Olga Harlan won bronze in the individual championship at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
In the fight for the “bronze”, the 33-year-old Ukrainian defeated South Korean Choi Sebin with a score of 15:14.
During the “bronze match” Kharlan lost the first period with a score of 3:8, and in the second she was behind 5:11, but showed character and turned the tide of the fight, snatching victory.
This is Ukraine's first medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Kharlan started the Games in Paris from the 1/16 finals, defeating Japanese Shihomi Fukushima (15:9). In the 1/8 finals, the Ukrainian defeatedrepresentative of Azerbaijan Anna Bashta, who competed under the Russian flag until 2019. In the quarterfinals, Olga beat Anna Marton from Hungary (15:7), and in the semifinals she lost to the Frenchwoman Sarah Balzer (7:15).
The 2024 Olympics are the fifth in Harlan's career. At the previous Olympic Games, she won four medals. Olga became the 2008 Olympic champion and the 2016 Olympic silver medalist in the team tournament, and also won bronze medals in the individual championship at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics.

Ukraine was also represented in the 2024 Olympics in the individual sabre tournament by Olena Kravatska and Alina Komashchuk, but both were eliminated in the 1/16 finals. Kravatska lost to Japanese Misaki Emura (14:15), and Komashchuk lost to Jeong Hyeon from South Korea (8:15).
Recall that the Games in Paris will last until August 11. Ukraine is represented at the XXXIII Summer Olympics by 140 athletes who compete in 23 sports.
