The Ukrainian women will compete for a ticket to the final of the team sabre fencing tournament.
The Ukrainian women's sabre fencing teammade it to the semi-finals of the team championship at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
In this discipline, Ukraine is represented by Olga Kharlan, Elena Kravatska, Alina Komashchuk and Yulia Bakastowa. The “blue-yellows” started from the quarter-finals, where they defeated the Italian team with a score of 45:37.
In the semi-finals, the Ukrainians will face Japan, which defeated Hungary in its quarter-final match (45:37).
The semi-final with the participation of our athletes will begin today at 16:20 Kyiv time. The winner will go to the final, and the loser will fight for the “bronze”.
France and South Korea will meet in the other semi-final. In the 1/4 finals, the French defeated Algeria (45:32), and the South Koreans defeated the USA (45:35).
We add that Ukraine already has one medal in fencing at the 2024 Olympic Games. Earlier, Harlan won “ bronze in the individual sabre competition.

Ukraine is represented at the XXXIII Summer Olympics by 140 athletes who compete in 23 sports. The Games in Paris will last until August 11.
Currently, the “blue-yellows” have two medals in their collection for the 2024 Olympics: in addition to the “bronze” of Harlan, the silver medal in shooting was won by Serhiy Kulish.
Another medal for the 2024 Olympics, at least a bronze one, was guaranteed for Ukraine by Oleksandr Khizhnyak, who reached the semi-finals of the boxing tournament.
