The Romans failed to beat "Cagliari" at the start of the Italian championship.
“Roma” of Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk played away to a draw with “Cagliari” in the match of the 1st round of the Italian Serie A of the 2024/25 season. The match ended with a score of 0:0.
In his debut game for his new club, the 27-year-old Ukrainian forward, who last season with “Girona” became the top scorer of the Spanish La Liga, got into the starting lineup.
Artem spent almost the entire match on the field, and was replaced by Stephan El Shaarawy only in the 90th minute.
Dovbyk also had several very good scoring chances. In the 80th minute, the Ukrainian hit the crossbar with a header after a cross from Paulo Dybala.
Two minutes later, Dovbyk made a dangerous shot from outside the penalty area, the home team's goalkeeper blocked it in front of him, after which Lorenzo Pellegrini finished the ball into the goal. However, the referee disallowed the goal due to offside.
In total, Dovbyk made three shots on goal in his debut match for Roma, one of them hitting the crossbar.
