Donetsk Shakhtar" has received opponents in the main stage of the Champions League season-2024/25. The draw procedure took place on Thursday, August 29, in Monaco.
In the updated draw of the most prestigious European tournament, the Miners will play in a single league, where they will play against eight different teams. The opponents of the Ukrainian champion will be Bayern (Germany), Borussia Dortmund (Germany), Atalanta (Italy), Arsenal London (England), Young Boys(Switzerland), PSV (Netherlands), Brest (France), Bologna (Italy).

Please note that before the automated draw, 36 clubs were divided into pots according to their UEFA coefficients. All Champions League participants were assigned two opponents from four different pots. Shakhtar was seeded from the second pot.
Each team will play eight matches against different opponents in the main round of the Champions League (four at home and four away). The match schedule will be published on Saturday, August 31.
The eight best teams from the main stage of the Champions League will reach the 1/8 finals. The clubs that finish in 9th to 24th place will play paired play-off matches to reach the 1/8 finals. The rest will end their participation in European competitions.
Starting from the 1/8 finals, the Champions League play-offs will be held according to the same scheme as before – in the format of two-match confrontations, the final will consist of one match.
