The 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to take place across North America, will feature a record-breaking number of participating teams — 48 in total. With the tournament still a year away, the names of the first ten national teams that have secured their spots are already known, reports Baltimore Chronicle.
Automatic qualification was granted to the national teams of Canada, the United States, and Mexico, as they are the host nations of the upcoming event. In addition, seven other teams have successfully advanced through their respective regional qualification stages. These nations are Japan, New Zealand, Iran, Argentina, Uzbekistan, South Korea, and Jordan.
Another 38 teams are yet to earn their place in the final stage of the competition. Among them is Ukraine, which will compete in Group D of the qualifying round alongside France, Iceland, and Azerbaijan
