Ukrainian tennis player Lyudmyla Kichenok reached the semifinals of the US Open 2024 in doubles.
In the quarterfinals, the 32-year-old native of Dnepra in a duet with Latvian Elena Ostapenko beat Moscow native Anna Danilina, who now represents Kazakhstan, and a “neutral” tennis player with a Russian passport Irina Khromacheva – 7:6, 6:4.

Lyudmila reached the semi-finals of the US Open for the first time in her career. Previously, her best result at this major was the quarterfinals in 2019, where she also played with Ostapenko.
The Ukrainian reached the semifinals of the doubles Grand Slam for the fourth time in her career. She previously did this at the Australian Open 2024, Roland Garros 2022 and Wimbledon 2022.
In the semifinals of the US Open, Kichenok and Ostapenko will face Chang Hao-Ching from Taiwan and the “neutral” Russian Veronika Kudermetova.
Recall that there are no more Ukrainian representatives in the singles at the 2024 US Open. The most successful among the Ukrainians were Elina Svitolina and Marta Kostyuk, who stopped in the 1/16 finals.
