Serhiy Rebrov's team was unable to rise from the last place in its quartet.
The Ukraine national team played to a draw with the Czech Republic in the match 4th round of the group stage of the 2024/25 Nations League. The match at the Tarczynski Arena Wroclaw stadium in Wroclaw, Poland ended with a score of 1:1.
Already in the fifth minute of the match, the “blue-yellows” could have opened the scoring – Mikhail Mudrik extended the ball along the left flank and passed to the center, from where Nikolai Shaparenko, from a very good position, shot well above the goal.
In the 18th minute, the Czechs responded with a goal. After a cross from a corner, Efim Konoplya kicked the ball out of the penalty area, but Lukas Cerv was on the rebound and accurately shot low into the near corner.
It is worth noting that a terrible incident occurred on the field a second before the goal was conceded. The Blue-Yellows' midfielder Oleksiy Gutsulyak collided with Tomas Soucek and was seriously injured. He even lost consciousness for a moment, but after quick medical assistance he regained consciousness and left the field on a stretcher. He was replaced by Oleksandr Zubkov.
At the end of the first half, Serhiy Rebrov's team almost conceded a second goal. In the 45+2nd minute, Martin Vitik finished the ball into the goal after Anatoly Trubin made a save, but after reviewing the video replay (VAR), the referees recorded an offside.
At the start of the second half, the Ukrainian team equalized the score in the match. Ladislav Krejci played with his hand in his own penalty area, after which Artem Dovbyk converted a penalty in the 53rd minute, sending the ball and the Czech goalkeeper to different corners.
Both teams spent the rest of the second half trying to snatch victory, but they failed to convert their chances into at least one goal. Consequently, the final whistle recorded a draw on the scoreboard.

After this match, the Czech Republic is in first place in Group B1 with 7 points. Georgia and Albania are in second and third place, respectively, with 6 points each. Ukraine with 4 points closes the quartet.
In the next fifth round of the League of Nations, the Ukrainians will play Georgia away, and the Czechs will play Albania away. The matches will take place on November 16.
According to the new format of the Nations League, a participant in the group tournament in Division B, where the Ukrainian national team competes, if it takes:
- first place – will rise to Division A;
- second place – will play playoffs for promotion to Division A with the team that finishes third in the Division A group;
- third place – will play playoffs for retention in Division B with the team that finishes second in the Division C group;
- fourth place – will be relegated to Division C.
