Before the last round, the Ukrainians retain their chances to fight for entry into the elite division.
The national teams of Albania and Czech Republic played a draw in the match of the 5th round of the group stage of the League of Nations of the 2024/25 season. The match between the Ukrainian team's rivals in Group B1 took place in Tirana and ended with a score of 0:0.
The match between the Albanians and the Czechs was not rich in scoring opportunities. During the entire match, the teams only hit the target twice, but they were unable to score at least one goal.
Review of the Albania vs. Czech Republic match
Earlier, the Ukrainian national team played a draw with Georgia in another match of the 5th round of this group. The tense match in Batumi ended with a score of 1:1.
Before the final round, the Ukrainian team is in last place in its League of Nations group with 5 points. The Czech Republic is in the lead (8 points). Georgia and Albania are in second and third place, respectively, with 7 points each.
In the final round, Serhiy Rebrov's team will play Albania in Tirana, and Georgia will meet the Czech Republic away. The matches will take place on Tuesday, November 19.
It should be noted that Ukraine has already completely lost its chance to take first place in the group, but continues to claim second place, which would allow it to take part in the playoffs for promotion to the elite division.
According to the new format of the League of Nations, a participant in the group tournament in Division B, where the Ukrainian national team competes, if it takes:
- first place – will rise to Division A;
- second place – will play playoff matches for promotion to Division A with the team that finishes third in the Division A group;
- third place – will play playoff matches for retention of registration in Division B with the team that finishes second in the Division C group;
- fourth place – will be relegated to Division C.
