The captain of the Ukrainian team twice made it to the flower ceremony.
Ukrainian Dmytro Pidruchnyi was nominated for the title of best biathlete following the results of the fourth stage of the 2024/25 World Cup, which took place in Oberhof, Germany.
This was reported by the International Biathlon Union (IBU).
At the stage in Oberhof, the captain of the Ukrainian team was twice in the flower ceremony. Dmitry took fourth place in the sprint and finished sixth in the pursuit.
In addition to Pidruchnyi, the award is also contested by Frenchwoman Paula Bothe (win in the sprint, second place in the single mixed), Norwegian Maren Kirkeide (second places in the sprint and pursuit, “bronze” in the mixed relay) and Milena Todorova from Bulgaria (bronze in the sprint, seventh place in the pursuit).
Voting for the best biathlete of the stage will last until 19:00 on Monday, January 13.
Note that Pidruchnyi is the second Ukrainian who has been nominated for the title of best biathlete based on the results of a World Cup stage this season.
Earlier, Vitaly Mandzyn was nominated for the title of best biathlete of the first stage of the World Cup in Kontiolahti, Finland, but the award went to the Finnish Suvi Minkinen.
The next stage of the Biathlon World Cup will be held from January 15 to 19 in Ruhpolding, Germany.
