 Pidruchnyi named best biathlete at World Cup stage in Oberhof

The captain of the Ukrainian national team won the vote of the International Biathlon Union (IBU).

Ukrainian Dmytro Pidruchnyi was named the best biathlete following the results of the fourth stage of the 2024/25 World Cup, which took place in Oberhof, Germany.

This was reported on the social networks of the International Biathlon Union (IBU).

In the voting on the IBU website, 33-year-old Pidruchnyi received the support of 39% of respondents, which is 7% more than the Frenchwoman Paula Bothe. Also competing for the award were Norwegian Maren Kirkeide and Milena Todorova from Bulgaria.

At the stage in Oberhof, the captain of the Ukrainian team twice made it to the flower ceremony. Dmitry took fourth place in the sprint and finished sixth in the pursuit.

It should be noted that Pidruchnyi is the second Ukrainian who has been nominated for the title of best biathlete at a World Cup stage this season.

Earlier, Vitaliy Mandzyn was nominated for the title of best biathlete at the first stage of the World Cup in Kontiolahti, Finland, but the award went to Suvi Minkinen from Finland.

The next stage of the Biathlon World Cup will be held from January 15 to 19 in Ruhpolding, Germany.
