 Ukrainian biathlete wins individual race at IBU Cup

Anastasia Merkushyna wins bronze in Brezno-Osrblie, Slovakia.

Ukrainian biathlete Anastasia Merkushyna won the bronze medal in the short individual race at the IBU Cup stage in Brezno-Osrblie, Slovakia.

Anastasia was the only Ukrainian to complete four shooting ranges without a miss and finished in third place.

The winner of the race was Norwegian Caroline Erdahl, and the silver was won by Frenchwoman Woldia Galmas Palen.

For Anastasia, this is the first international podium since the 2022/23 season, when she won gold at the European Championships in the sprint. This is also the first podium for Ukraine this season at the IBU Cup.

Earlier it was reported that the captain of the Ukrainian team Dmytro Pidruchnyi was recognized as the best biathlete of the World Cup stage in Oberhof.
