"Won't fight Usyk": Promoter speaks out about possible return of Vladimir Klitschko to the ring

Tom Loeffler believes that the legendary Ukrainian is capable of breaking George Foreman's record.

Tom Loeffler, the former promoter of ex-world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, commented on the possible return of his ex-protégé to the professional boxing.

He is confident that the 48-year-old Ukrainian is capable of stepping into the ring again and breaking the record of American George Foreman, who remains the oldest heavyweight world champion in boxing history.

Note that Foreman won the WBA and IBF heavyweight titles at the age of 45 years and 9 months. So if Vladimir Klitschko can win back at least one of the belts again, he will become the oldest heavyweight world champion in boxing history.

“Wladimir has said he would fight for the title, break George Foreman's record, so we'll see what happens. He's 48, he'll be 49 in March, but if anyone can do it, it's Wladimir. I can't speak for him.

Obviously, he's not going to fight Usyk. He has some unresolved issues with Fury, but it looks like Fury is taking another break,” Loeffler told ESNEWS.

Klitschko Jr. retired in 2017 after a knockout loss to Anthony Joshua. Before that, in 2015, he lost by unanimous decision to Tyson Fury and lost his IBF, IBO, WBO and WBA championship belts.

In the professional ring, Vladimir had 69 fights, won 64 victories (54 by knockout) and suffered 5 defeats. He held the WBO (2000-2003, 2008-2015), IBF (2006-2015), IBO (2006-2015) and WBA (2011-2015) championship belts in the heavyweight division.

Earlier it was reported that Vladimir Klitschko answered whether he would return to the ring.
