Red Bull Racing made the decision to replace Sergio Perez with Liam Lawson late last year, leaving the Mexican driver without a seat for 2025. Commenting on the team's decision, Sergio said that he intends to take a six-month break, after which he will decide on his future plans.
As Racingnews365 has learned, Perez is actively working to return to Formula 1. The driver has already met with Cadillac representatives to discuss a contract for 2026.
Sergio is considered one of the candidates for a place in the new team along with Valtteri Bottas and Colton Herta. However, the team will not sign contracts or announce them until it receives final approval for its application to participate in Formula 1.
