Uzbek super heavyweight Bakhodir Jalolov (15-0, 14 KOs) defeated Ukrainian Igor Shevadzutskiy (12-3, 10 KOs) at Barys Arena in Kazakhstan.
Dzhalolov approached the fight as an obvious favorite, but was unable to finish it early. The fight lasted the entire planned distance of 10 rounds, and the boxer from Uzbekistan won by unanimous decision of the judges – 100-89, 97-92, 97-93.
For the first time in the professional ring, Dzhalolov failed to knock out his opponent – he had always won all 14 previous fights ahead of schedule.
It should be noted that Jalolov fought in the professional ring for the first time since November 2023. Then, in Tashkent, Bakhodir knocked out Chris Thompson from South Africa in the second minute of the first round.
The boxer from Uzbekistan interrupted his professional career, returning to amateur boxing. Bakhodir took part in his third Olympics. Jalolov won gold in the heavyweight category at the 2024 Games in Paris and became a two-time Olympic champion.
