Croatian boxer wins fight against Briton by unanimous decision
Croatian boxer Filip Hrgovic shared his emotions and plans for the future after his victory over Briton Joe Joyce.
“This guy beat Dubois and I beat him. I want a rematch with Daniel Dubois. I did very badly in the last fight, but congratulations to him – he did a great job then. Of course I want a rematch.
Thanks Joe for this opportunity. I went out on a short message, wasn't fully prepared. But I'm very happy to be back and looking forward to the big battles in the future.
This guy is like steel. I couldn't believe he took all the punches. He's tough, a real beast, very strong.”
The 10-round fight in Manchester ended with a unanimous decision victory for Filip Hrgovic. Entering the fight on short notice in place of Dillian Whyte, he defeated Joe Joyce on all three judges' scorecards (97-93, 96-95, 98-92).
