IBF welterweight champion Jaron Ennis shared his opinion on a possible fight between WBC, WBA and WBO super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) and WBA junior middleweight title holder Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs).

“I think Crawford should have a warm-up fight at this weight just to get used to someone who is much bigger than him. I know when you move up in weight, you have to put on muscle and get heavier. So he [Crawford] might not want to fight right now because he's trying to make weight. I think he needs to stay sharp. That way, he won't have a long layoff.”

“You'd lean towards Canelo in this fight because he's been at this weight for a long time. He's beaten the big guys. Crawford is a little smaller.”

Earlier it became known that Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Terence Crawford agreed to hold a fight, which could tentatively take place in September in Las Vegas.

The desire to organize this fight was announced last summer by the Chairman of the General Authority for Entertainment of Saudi Arabia, Turki Al ash-Sheikh.

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, 34, last fought in September 2024, winning a unanimous decision over Edgar Berlanga and earning his 62nd professional victory. The Mexican will fight William Scull in Riyadh on May 3.

Crawford last entered the ring in August last year, defeating Uzbekistan's Israil Madrimov.
