Brian Norman and Mario Barrios will meet in the ring
Influential promoter Bob Arum is planning a welterweight title fight. The date and location of the fight have not yet been announced.
World champion Brian Norman (27–0, 21 KOs, WBO) from the USA will meet his compatriot Mario Barrios (29–2–1, 18 KOs, WBC) in the ring.
Arum said his company Top Rank has partnered with former rival Premier Boxing Champions and its chairman Al Haymon to unify the division's titles.
“He sits in the corner and doesn't even stick his head out. It's cool to be a world champion, but there are a lot of boxers who hold the title and are not interesting to the fans. My goal is to be a contender for greatness,” Norman told Barios.
