Ousmane Dembélé wins the 2025 Ballon d’Or after leading PSG to a historic treble, including their first-ever Champions League victory.

Paris Saint-Germain winger and French national team player Ousmane Dembélé has won the 2025 Ballon d’Or, the annual award presented by France Football to the best footballer in the world. The most prestigious individual trophy in football was handed to him by Brazilian legend Ronaldinho, the 2005 Ballon d’Or winner, reports Baltimore Chronicle.

Last season, Dembélé played a decisive role in PSG’s historic treble, leading the club to its first-ever UEFA Champions League triumph, where he was named Player of the Season. He also reached the FIFA Club World Cup final with the team. The 28-year-old forward recorded 33 goals and 14 assists in 52 matches for PSG.

Dembélé became the sixth French player to claim the Ballon d’Or. Before him, the award went to Raymond Kopa, Michel Platini, Jean-Pierre Papin, Zinedine Zidane, and Karim Benzema.

PSG players missed the award ceremony due to their Ligue 1 match against Marseille. Dembélé, sidelined with an injury, was not included in Luis Enrique’s squad, which allowed him to attend the event.
