Yulia Starodubtseva exited the WTA 250 tournament in Zhuzhou after losing to Zheng Wushuan in a two-set match lasting over two hours.

Ukrainian tennis player Yulia Starodubtseva concluded her participation at the WTA 250 tournament in Zhuzhou, China, which featured a total prize fund of $275,094. In the opening round, Starodubtseva, ranked 115th in the WTA standings, was defeated by Chinese competitor Zheng Wushuan with a score of 3-6, 6-7 (5-7), reports Baltimore Chronicle.

The match lasted two hours and five minutes. Despite a stronger performance in the second set, Starodubtseva was unable to force a third set. In the decisive tiebreak, Zheng secured the winning points to close the match in her favor.

Prior to the Zhuzhou tournament, Starodubtseva had suffered losses in Ningbo and at the start of the WTA 500 qualifying rounds in Tokyo. These earlier defeats affected her current form, limiting her ability to perform at her best in China.

Following this match, the Ukrainian athlete ended her run in the tournament, marking an early exit from the WTA 250 event.
