Former world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko and former absolute world lightweight champion George Kambososheld an open training session on the eve of their title fight.

The Ukrainian boxer showed his technique in public, practicing punches on a ball tied to a blue-yellow cap. By the way, all this happened against the background of the unfurled flag of Ukraine.

The Australian also showed fans his abilities by actively shadowboxing.

The fight between Lomachenko and Kambosos will take place on May 12in the Australian city of Perth. The vacant IBF lightweight title will be on the line. An online text broadcast of the fight will be available on our website.

Lomachenko last entered the ring on the night of May 21, 2023, when he lost by unanimous decision to American Devin Haney in a fight for the title of absolute world lightweight champion.

At the end of November, Haney decided to change the weight category and vacated all the major lightweight championship belts – WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO.

Kambosos, in his last fight in July 2023, defeated Briton Maxie Hughes to win the IBO minor lightweight title. Before this, the Australian suffered two consecutive defeats from Haney, losing the title of absolute world champion, which he won in November 2021 with a victory over American Teofimo Lopez.

In total, 36-year-old Lomachenko has 17 victories (11 by knockout) and 3 defeats in the professional ring. The 30-year-old Kambosos' track record includes 21 wins (10 by knockout) and 2 losses.
