Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya failed to make it to the 1/8 finals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid.
In the third round match, the 23-year-old native of Odessa (No. 34 WTA) was defeated by the third racket world champion American Cori Gauff.
The match lasted 1 hour 18 minutes and ended with a score of 6:4, 6:1 in favor of the US representative.
During the game, Yastremskaya served twice, hitting 2 double faults and used 2 of 6 break points. This was the first head-to-head meeting between the tennis players.
